To celebrate one of the best ice seasons in Rjukan's history, Rjukan Adventure offers a 15% discount on all our ice climbing courses in March. March is without doubt the best month for ice climbing in Rjukan. Tons of ice, long days and perfect temperatures is what you can expect throughout the whole of March. It is also generally less climbers in the area, which means easier access to the classic ice routes in the valley.

Best climbing in March
March is the best month for ice climbing in Rjukan, with long days, perfect temperatures and tons of ice. In general there are also less climbers in the area which means easier access to the classic ice routes.
March is also a great time to combine the climbing holiday with cross-country or alpine skiing. The skiing from Gaustatoppen is at its best from mid March throughout May. Cross-country skiing at Hardangervidda in spring is just amazing, and we recommend to squeeze in a day or two of skiing when you visit Rjukan in March.

Photo sessions with Anneli Pompe
Rjukan Adventure crew member Fredrik Sträng and his partner Anneli Pompe spent 2 weeks on the ice falls in Rjukan during Christmas, training for upcoming adventures. Anneli is a talented photographer and we started the new year with a photo session together with her, in the canyon at Vemork. You can check out some of the photos she took on Andreas Spak's blog.
