Transportation
On this page we present different options for transportation to and in Rjukan. Public transportation in Norway is in general less available than in many other countries so access to a car is an advantage for climbing here. The only available public transportation to and from Rjukan is by bus.
If one does not have access to a car the other options are taxi or bus, but because of very limited bus connections, taxi is often the only real option. Distances to the different ice climbing areas in the valley is relatively short, which is why many chose to walk or hitch-hike.
